Naturally, I planned to make newtype parameters work the same way. In the original plan, newtype parameters were nominal, with positional parameters just being syntactic sugar. For example, if you had type map[K; V] = ..., then map[str; int] is just shorthand for map[K=str; V=int], and you could also specify parameters by name explicitly if you wanted to (e.g. map[V=int; K=str]). However, in the final version of 1SubML, newtype parameters are purely positional and can’t be specified by name.
